Reading the iGaming Ontario directory as a document, line by line
One page, read closely
The iGaming Ontario directory is a single public page, but it rewards a slow read: an accuracy date, product categories, website names and the operator behind each one.
The iGaming Ontario directory is a public web page listing gaming websites and the operators that run them. Most people open it to look up one name and close it again. Read as a whole document, it says more: when it was last brought up to date, how products are grouped, and which companies stand behind which brands.
The accuracy date comes first
Before reading any entry, find the date. The page states that its listing is accurate as of 6 August 2026. It was opened on 28 August 2026 and again on 16 September 2026, and on both readings that date had not moved.
That line matters because the page is not a live feed. A brand added or removed after the accuracy date may not show yet. So treat every entry as true on that date, and check the date again whenever you come back to the page.
It also helps to keep your own note. Write down the accuracy date alongside the entries you looked up, and the date you looked. If you return a month later and the accuracy date has changed, you know the list has been brought up to date since your last visit, and the entries you care about are worth reading again rather than trusting from memory. A screenshot with the date visible does the same job and takes a second.
How the iGaming Ontario directory is laid out
The page lists 48 operators and more than 80 gaming websites. Each entry pairs two things:
- A gaming website, shown by brand name and linked to its address.
- The operator, meaning the company that runs that website.
Beside each website sit one or more product categories. There are four in use:
- Casino, by far the most common.
- Sports Betting, often paired with Casino on the same entry.
- Poker, a small group.
- Bingo, the smallest group.
A single website can carry more than one category. Bwin, for example, appears under Casino, Poker and Sports Betting at once. Other brands carry one category only: PlayOJO and Spin Casino are Casino alone.
Reading operator names
Operator names are printed as company names, and they rarely match the brand. VHL Ontario Limited runs 888 Casino, 888 Poker and 888 Sport. Canadix Limited runs Betinia, Swiper and ToonieBet. American Wagering Inc runs Caesars and Horseshoe Online Casino.
Reading down the operator column shows how concentrated the list is. Apollo Entertainment Ltd appears beside seven casino brands. ElectraWorks Maple Limited appears beside five names spread over casino, poker and sports betting. Cadtree Limited, Skill On Net Ltd. and BetMGM Canada Inc. each appear beside four. The who owns what guide sets out every group.
Many other operators appear once, beside a single website. NorthStar Gaming (Ontario) Inc. and NorthStar Bets are one such pair; Hard Rock Digital (Canada) Limited and Hard Rock Bet are another.
Spelling in the directory is not always the spelling on a casino's own pages. American Wagering Inc has no comma in the directory, while the Caesars terms print American Wagering, Inc. Small differences like this are normal and do not signal a different business.
The poker and bingo categories
In the directory's poker category there are six websites: BetMGM Poker, Bwin, PartyPoker, FanDuel Poker, GGPoker and 888 Poker. Some of these are dedicated poker brands; Bwin combines poker with casino and sports betting on one entry. The online poker guide covers the formats those sites offer.
The bingo category is smaller still, with three websites: Betty, Casino Time and Delta Casino. Each is also listed under Casino.
What the iGaming Ontario directory does not show
The page is short by design. It does not show:
- bonuses or promotions;
- game libraries, studios or return-to-player figures;
- payment methods or withdrawal rules;
- identity check clauses or document deadlines;
- support hours or contact details.
All of that sits on each brand's own pages and in its terms. The directory answers «who runs this website, and in which product categories», and not much else. For the rules of an account, the terms are the document to read; the check a casino guide walks through them.
Using the page well
A few habits make the directory more useful:
- Search by domain, not only by brand. Brand names can look alike. The address in the directory is the one to compare with your browser's address bar.
- Note the operator. Write it down, then find the same name in the footer or the first paragraph of the brand's terms.
- Note the category. If a brand appears only under Casino, the directory does not place a sportsbook or poker room under that entry.
- Check the accuracy date each visit. If it has changed, look again at the entry you care about.
