Casino brand and company: what each name at the bottom of the page tells you

Reading a casino footer

Scroll to the foot of almost any casino lobby and two names turn up: the brand on the logo and the company in the small print. They do different jobs.

Every casino page carries two names, and the difference between casino brand and company is worth a minute before a first deposit. The brand is the name on the logo, the lobby and the app icon. The company is the business named in the footer and the terms, the one that actually opens your account and holds your balance.

The brand: what you see

A brand is built to be remembered. It has a name, a colour scheme, a mascot or a style of lobby, and a domain. Spin Casino, Zodiac Casino and PlayOJO are brands. So are BetMGM Casino and Hard Rock Bet.

The brand tells you a few useful things. It tells you which website or app you are on, which matters when two sites look similar. It tells you where your login belongs: do not expect details from one brand to sign you in on another, even when the same business runs both. And it is the name support staff will recognize when you get in touch.

What the brand does not tell you is who carries the obligations in the terms. A brand can be redesigned, renamed or moved to a new domain while the business behind it stays the same, and the reverse can happen too. For that reason the logo alone is a weak thing to rely on when money or a dispute is involved. The second name fills that gap.

The company: who you deal with

The company is named in the fine print. On most casino sites it appears in a line at the very bottom of the lobby, and again near the top of the terms, where the text defines «we», «us» or «the Company».

Some examples from casino terms opened on 16 September 2026:

  • BetMGM Casino's general terms name BetMGM Canada Inc.
  • 888 Casino's user agreement names VHL Ontario Limited.
  • Caesars Palace Online Casino's terms name American Wagering, Inc.
  • FanDuel Casino's terms name FanDuel Canada ULC.
  • Hard Rock Bet's terms name Hard Rock Digital (Canada) Limited.
  • NorthStar Bets' terms name NorthStar Gaming (Ontario) Inc.

The company is the party to the agreement. It sets the identity check rules, holds deposits, applies withdrawal caps and answers complaints. When a clause says «we may request documents», the «we» is this company.

Casino brand and company side by side

Put the two names next to each other and some patterns appear.

The BetMGM Ontario casino lobby
The BetMGM lobby as it appeared on 28 August 2026. The iGaming Ontario directory names BetMGM Canada Inc. as the operator behind it.

Same name, one site. NorthStar Bets and NorthStar Gaming (Ontario) Inc. share a word, and the iGaming Ontario directory lists just that one website beside that company. What you see is close to what you get.

One company, several brands. Cadtree Limited sits behind Jackpot City, Royal Vegas, Ruby Fortune and Spin Casino. Apollo Entertainment Ltd sits behind seven casino brands, including Golden Tiger and Yukon Gold Casino. Nothing on the lobby of one of those sites need mention the others. The who owns what guide lists these groups in full.

Brand name and company name that look unrelated. 888 Casino and VHL Ontario Limited share no words at all. Neither do Caesars and American Wagering Inc. That is normal. It simply means the footer is the only place on the page where the connection shows.

Small spelling differences. The Caesars terms print American Wagering, Inc. with a comma; the directory prints it without. Punctuation and «Ltd» versus «Limited» are not a warning sign. A completely different company name would be.

What a casino brand and company are each good for

Use the brand to find the right site, log in and talk to support.

Use the company for anything that has to hold up later:

  • When you save a copy of the terms, note the company name with the date.
  • When you write a complaint, address it to the company, quote the clause, and keep the reply. The complaints guide shows how to set one out.
  • When you compare two brands owned by one company, read both sets of terms rather than assuming they match. A cap or a document deadline on one brand is printed for that brand.
  • When you check a casino in the iGaming Ontario directory, search for the website and read the company printed beside it.

A two-minute check

Before a first deposit, do this once:

The FanDuel Casino Ontario page
The FanDuel Casino lobby as it appeared on 28 August 2026. The iGaming Ontario directory names FanDuel Canada ULC as the operator behind it.
  1. Scroll to the bottom of the lobby and write down the company name.
  2. Open the terms and find the same name in the first paragraph.
  3. Open the iGaming Ontario directory and find the brand's website.
  4. Compare the company beside it with the name you wrote down.

If the names match, you know the business behind the brand. If they do not, ask support in writing before sending money, and keep the answer. The check a casino guide adds the next steps, from the identity clause to withdrawal caps. Background on what the directory listing means sits on a separate page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a casino brand and company?
The brand is the trading name you see on the logo, lobby and app. The company is the business named in the footer and in the terms, which opens your account, holds your money and is bound by the agreement. One company can run several brands, so two casinos that look unrelated may share a company. For anything you may need to rely on later, such as a complaint, use the company name.
Where do I find the company name on a casino site?
Look at the line of small print at the very bottom of the lobby first. Then open the terms and conditions: the opening paragraph usually names the business and calls it «we» or «the Company». Some sites repeat the name in the cashier or on email receipts. If none of these shows a company, ask support in writing and keep the reply.
Should I worry if the brand and company names are completely different?
Not by itself. 888 Casino is run by VHL Ontario Limited and Caesars by American Wagering Inc, and neither pair shares a word. What matters is that the company in the terms matches the one the iGaming Ontario directory prints beside the website. Small differences in punctuation are normal; a different business altogether is a reason to ask questions before depositing.
